Political activity surrounding the Bihar Vidhan Sabha Election 2025 Dates has intensified. The biggest question in every political arena and among the general public is when will the Bihar Election 2025 Dates be announced. The Election Commission has begun finalizing its preparations, and indications are that the picture may become clearer in the first week of October.
Election Commission's Bihar Visit
The Election Commission will visit Bihar on a two-day visit on October 4th and 5th. During this visit, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi will closely review the state's preparations. Immediately before this, a meeting of all election observers will be held in Delhi on October 3rd. General, police, and expenditure observers will be provided with detailed information.
Experts believe that the Bihar Assembly Election Dates 2025 will be formally announced within a few days of the Commission's visit to Bihar.
Dates will be decided keeping in mind festivals.
This time, the Election Commission is also taking festivals into account. Chhath and Diwali fall between October 18 and 28. Therefore, the Commission will announce the voting dates keeping these in mind. It is worth noting that the term of the current Assembly ends on November 22, 2025, making it mandatory to hold elections before then. It is estimated that voting will be held in early November.
Deployment of 470 Observers for the Elections
The Commission has prepared a special plan to ensure safe and transparent elections. A total of 470 observers will be deployed, including 320 IAS, 60 IPS, and 90 officers from other services. These officers will act as the Commission's "eyes and ears" and monitor the electoral process at every level. The Commission says that strict action will be taken to prevent any kind of malpractice or bias.
Political Equations
With the Bihar Vidhan Sabha Election 2025 dates being finalized, the strategies of political parties will also be finalized. On one side is the NDA alliance, consisting of the BJP and JDU, while on the other is the Grand Alliance, led by the RJD and the Congress. Prashant Kishore's Jan Suraj Party may also emerge as a third party.
Electoral Experience of 2020
The last election, i.e., the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, was held in three phases—voting took place on October 28, November 3, and November 7, and the results were announced on November 10. At that time, the NDA won 125 seats, while the Grand Alliance had to settle for 110. In that election, held amid the COVID-19 pandemic, both security and health posed major challenges.
Waiting for the Results
All eyes are now on the Election Commission's upcoming press conference. Signs are clear that the Bihar Election 2025 dates may be announced any day after October 5. As soon as the dates are announced, the political heat in Bihar is sure to rise, and political parties will enter the fray with full force.
