West Champaran district is one of the 38 districts of Bihar. The Narkatiaganj Assembly constituency falls under the Valmiki Nagar Lok Sabha seat. The Valmiki Nagar Lok Sabha constituency comprises a total of six assembly seats—Valmiki Nagar, Ramnagar (SC), Narkatiaganj, Bagaha, Lauriya and Sikta.
This seat came into existence after the delimitation in 2008. Previously, it was known as Shikarpur.
