Uttarakhand Zill Panchayat Election Result 2025: Results will come this evening, counting of votes for block pramukh elections will also start

Dehradun – The last round of voting for the posts of Zilla Panchayat President and Block Pramukh is going on in Uttarakhand today. Voting started at 10 am and will continue till 3 pm. After this, counting of votes for Uttarakhand Zill Panchayat Election Result 2025 and Uttarakhand Block Pramukh Election live result 2025 will start immediately and all the results will be declared by evening.

According to the State Election Commission, this time elections are being held for the posts of 89 Block Pramukhs, Senior Deputy Pramukhs and Junior Deputy Pramukhs along with President and Vice President in 12 district panchayats of the state. Unopposed elections have already been held for many of these posts, while voting is being held for the rest today.


In which districts has unopposed election already been held?

Unopposed results have been declared for the post of District Panchayat President in Udham Singh Nagar, Champawat, Pithoragarh, Uttarkashi and Tehri. At the same time, Ishita Sajwan in Tehri, Ajay Maurya in Udham Singh Nagar, Anand Singh Adhikari in Champawat, Jitendra Prasad in Pithoragarh and Ramesh Chauhan in Uttarkashi have already won unopposed.

However, the High Court has stayed the result of Udham Singh Nagar, so the result will not be declared there. Voting is going on today with a tough competition in the remaining six districts – Dehradun, Pauri, Bageshwar, Nainital, Almora and Rudraprayag.


Excitement in block pramukh elections too

Out of 89 area panchayats of the state, 17 block pramukhs have already been elected unopposed, while one post is vacant. 151 candidates are in the fray for the remaining 71 posts. 152 candidates are trying their luck for the post of senior deputy pramukh and 132 for the post of junior deputy pramukh.

Under Uttarakhand Block Pramukh Election live result 2025, counting of votes will take place directly after the polling and the results will be declared by evening.


Voting process and rules

Voting is taking place under the Single Transferable Vote System. In this, candidates are voted in priority order, and the candidate with the highest priority is declared victorious.

Voters and representatives are reaching polling stations in many places since morning. In Chamoli district, Devar Khadora ward member Jai Prakash Singh Panwar and Kotha ward Gairsain member Suresh Kumar were the first to cast their votes.

Counting of votes will start at 3:30 pm after the voting is over. The Election Commission has made tight security arrangements for counting of votes in all districts and blocks.
