Now casting vote will be even easier! Election Commission made big changes, strict ban will be imposed on duplicate voter ID
The Election Commission of India has implemented several major reforms to make the country's election system more transparent, simple and voter friendly. The main objective of these reforms is to prevent duplicate voter ID, simplify the voting process and provide a better experience to every voter.
Why did the Election Commission take big decisions?
Chief Electoral Officer Dr. B.V.R.C. Purushottam said that keeping in mind the convenience of voters, the Commission has focused on important issues like number of polling stations, voter list update, technical integration and control over duplicate voter cards.
Main changes:
✅ Technical steps to ban duplicate voter ID
Now every voter will be given a unique EPIC number (Electors Photo Identity Card), due to which it will not be possible to issue duplicate voter ID in the name of any person. This step will prove to be very effective in preventing fraud and double voting in elections.
✅ New process for removing names of dead from voter list
Now the data of dead voters will be taken directly from the Registrar General of India. With this, the names of dead persons will be automatically verified and removed from the voter list, which will further reduce the chances of duplicate or fake voter ID.
✅ Maximum 1200 voters at each booth
Now there will be a maximum of 1200 voters at each polling station. This will reduce congestion and improve the voting experience. Along with this, additional booths will be set up in high-rise buildings and densely populated colonies, so that voters do not have to travel long distances.
✅ Voter slip will have complete information
Now the voter's serial number and part number will be clearly displayed in the voter slip. This will not cause any difficulty to voters in reaching their polling station.
✅ All services in one place from ECINet dashboard
The Election Commission has launched the new ECINet dashboard, bringing more than 40 apps and websites on a single platform. This will allow voters to get all their documents and services from one place.
Conclusion:
These reforms of the Election Commission of India will not only simplify the election process, but will also completely curb serious issues like duplicate voter ID. Transparency will increase through technology and the voting rights of every citizen will be protected.
If you also have a voter ID, make sure it is updated and valid. To avoid any kind of duplication, confirm your details by visiting the ECI website or app.
